General FAQs

No. The only people that can see patient information or results are the patient and their care team. Patient information or results are not shared with or sold to any third parties (such as a pharmaceutical or insurance company).

All patient information and data is stored in Canada. Greenspace works with a secure cloud hosting provider called Aptible, which is specifically designed to securely manage and store confidential and highly sensitive healthcare information. Aptible has been tested and certified by security professionals from Kaiser Permanente, MD Anderson, UnitedHealth Group, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, and many others. In addition, Aptible is certified for compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HITRUST CSF.

Medical research shows that the ongoing and consistent measurement of progress throughout therapy leads to significantly improved treatment outcomes. Please review the Research Page for the some of the key reasons why measurement has such a positive effect on treatment outcomes.

Progress Measurement

There is no fee for therapists and their patients to use the Greenspace progress measurement platform (now or ever). Greenspace generates revenue through two types of "Premium Accounts". For individual therapists, certain features are only available to users who subscribe to a Premium Account. The fee for a Premium Account is $15 per month and includes features such as customizable delivery schedules, additional types of assessments and a display of the therapist's aggregated statistics. For Clinics and Hospitals, Greenspace offers a Clinic Account, which gives Clinics and Hospitals (i) a statistical display of data and information about the treatment outcomes being achieved within their organization; and (ii) a transparent view into the progress each patient within their organization.

Accessing Care

There is no fee for patients or primary care providers to find a suitable mental health therapist using Greenspace. Therapists pay a service fee for use of the platform with patients that are matched with them.

We determine whether to add an assessment to the platform based on the following criteria:
  • Psychometric properties
  • How widely the assessment is used and validated
  • Length of assessment (all available assessments are between 5 and 20 questions)
  • Cost
  • Therapist feedback

Yes. We love hearing suggestions from therapists actively using the platform of other assessments that would be beneficial to their patients. As a result, we are always adding to the assessments that are available on the platform.

Yes. For all assessments that are added to the platform, we ensure that we have secured the appropriate licence for their use.

No. The Greenspace administrator does not have the ability to identify any patients that are using the platform. A patient’s identity and results can only be accessed and viewed by their therapist.

Yes. Greenspace is compliant with Canadian federal and provincial privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (Ontario), the Personal Information Protection Act (Alberta), the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia), and An Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec).

Greenspace holds data security and privacy in the highest regard. The Platform conforms to digital and physical security protocols, utilizes SSL-secured access, AES encryption at the filesystem level, and firewalls protecting all data. Additional precautions taken to protect privacy include requiring: strong passwords, automatic logouts, automatic access logging, secured data backups, and restrictive data access procedures.
